    Remedies:

Homeopathic remedies are predominantly made from animal, plant and mineral materials, though also diseased tissue is used in producing what is called nosodes and healthy tissue for sarcodes.  A process of dilution and succussion (shaking) is used to bring out the natural healing properties of the substances, and thereby makes them non-toxic and without any toxic side-effects. The dilution and succussion are necessary procedures for dynamizing (making energetic on a vibrational level) the remedies. This dynamization beyond Avogadro’s limit guarantee that the remedies will work by stimulating the body and not suppress and inhibit the functional processes.
Remedies come in various varieties such as:

    • Globules
    • Tablets
    • Pellets
    • Syrups
    • Tinctures
    • Drops
    • Ointment
    • Ovules

However, the most common forms are the tinctures and globules/pellets which most homoeopaths prescribe as they are simple and easy for the patient to utilize.
In order to maintain the potency and freshness of the remedies, it is very important to store them properly. They need protection against light, high temperatures and humidity, and, after use, are best stored in a small kit or bag.
There are more than 4000 different commonly prescribed remedies and about 6000 less commonly prescribed with new remedies being added each year. This high number of different remedies gives a good base and ensure that the homoeopathic practitioner always match the patient’s individual and characteristic symptoms.

The curative power of a homoeopathic remedy is based on symptom similarity of the potentised remedy bases on the principle “similar cures similar”. A remedy which produces certain symptoms in healthy persons will benefit a person suffering from an illness with these similar symptoms. Therefore, in order to discern the exact reactions from a substance, all remedies are tested on healthy human beings. The procedure of testing remedies is called a proving.
